Attractions

 Gdynia is a young city, is so filled with buildings of modernist architecture. Among these buildings are hidden here and memorabilia from the days when Gdynia was a village. The few monuments for understanding the history of the city, show life was like here before the creation of the port. The construction of the harbor and the town was started here in 1921 and five years later received the Gdynia city rights. Today it is a rapidly growing city attractive in every respect: tourism, entertainment and business.

 

Kosciuszko Square and the Avenue of the Federation is the most visited places in Gdynia. Favoured by locals and tourists a place for walks and excursions. From here you can see approaching from all over the world sailing ships, such as in 2003, when it took place in Gdynia Rally of Great Ships - The Cutty Sark Tall Ships' Races (third time). Every day you can visit the "Gift of Pomerania" - the most famous Polish sailing training and ORP "Lightning" - destroyer decorated for war to achieve the Gold Cross of the Order of Military Virtue. Here also held concerts, festivals and other events. At the end of the Avenue of the Federation stands a statue of Joseph Condrada - writer marine painter.
